What Your Clients Are Not Telling You (But Really Want You to Know)

Back by popular demand!  Once again we’ve assembled a panel of clients who tell it like it is and don’t sugarcoat the truth.  You will learn what pet peeves they have when it comes to professional services marketing, what mistakes to avoid, and how to win more business.  They won’t hold back; they will tell you what you need to hear (not what you want to hear).

Our panel will include:

Warren Chaiko, Senior Vice President, Hawaii Pacific Health

Warren has been with Hawaii Pacific Health (which includes Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, Pali Momi Medical Center, Straub Medical Center, and Wilcox Medical Center) for 15 years. He has system-wide responsibility for the company’s design, construction, leasing, real estate and facility master planning activities.  He began his career as a laborer and carpenter’s apprentice at Hawaiian Dredging, while he earned a degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington.  Warren returned to Hawaii, obtained his general contractor's license, and worked for Hawaii Western Construction and CJS Group Architects.  He was also the co-founder of his own general contracting firm and later a VP at Charles Pankow Builders.

Harzali Hashim, Director of Engineering, Sheraton Waikiki

Harzali  has been in this role since April of 2015 and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the engineering department which consists of 63 associates, managing the annual capital projects at the property and coordinating sustainability efforts across the various departments at the hotel.  Prior to this he was Director of Engineering at the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa from 2005 to 2015.  Before joining the hospitality industry Harzali was an Electrical Engineering for (WSP) Lincolne Scott across locations in New Zealand, Australia and lastly in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Alana Kobayashi Pakkala, Partner & Chief Operating Officer, Kobayashi Group

Alana has been with the real estate development and investment firm for 17 years, responsible for managing architectural and interior design, proforma and construction projects, and sales and marketing. She began her career with Kobayashi Group (KG) managing the successful Kapolei Kai development. Then introducing the Luxury Spec Home division of KG, Alana managed the Ali’i Penthouse at Hokua and three outdoor lifestyle homes at Kukio Golf and Beach Club. She has also worked on the development of Hokua, Capitol Place, ONE Ala Moana and, most recently, Park Lane Ala Moana.
